K4C, Kids for Christ, Noticeboard
for the children ministry of The Vine Church Ltd.
The Brief
K4C stands for Kids for Christ which is the children ministry of The Vine Church. I am responsible for their noticeboard design. A kid-friendly artistic direction was pursued in the designs and, a fun and uplifting feeling was to be portrayed.
Challenges
Every month has a different theme. A new concept has to be brainstormed each month. It is both fun and challenging during the process.
K4C Summer Programme
The Solution
I was asked to design the graphic for the summer programme of K4C. It is a fun and adventurous programme and a graphic which conveys that feeling was to be made.
I created a logo for the summer programme and a graphic of three islands which represent three days of activity (Art, Sports and Movie). Having the keywords, fun and adventurous, in mind, I thought of a concept of an isometric game in which children can pick the island they want to play in. I picked a vibrant colour palette because of the summer theme.
Summer Programme Logo
I used different elements of a beach to build the logo, like palm trees, buoy, beach umbrella and surfboard, etc. Beaches are always a to-go place in summer and the time spent there are always fun, like K4C summer programme!
Poster
Like it is in a game, the three islands were drawn in an isometric style. Each island representing their corresponding day. Characters on the art day island are having activities related to art and it is the same on the other islands.
Due to Covid-19, the summer programme was conducted online as the online art class. The poster below is for the online art class.
May and June Volunteer Recruitment
The Solution
It was the noticeboard design of May and June. The ministry was trying to recruit volunteers for its programme.
I made a calendar-like design to put the information inside. The direction of the board was cheerful and informative. I used multiple colours and used black strokes to give the design a cartoony feeling.
Power Up
The Solution
It was the noticeboard deign of July. They were having a “Power Up” series of workshops during July.
I thought of using a gaming theme to present the “Power Up” series immediately. “Power Up” sounds like an upgrade in a traditional arcade game, so I had decided to use the most iconic arcade game, Space Invader, for the design, and I thought kids would be attracted by a gaming poster.
Thank you to volunteers
The Solution
It was the noticeboard deign of September. K4C wanted to show its gratitude towards volunteers that helped in the last bible school.
A photo collage of a child in the bible school was made using portraits of volunteers. An encouragement box was also made. Volunteers can drop a thank you note to the ministry.
Interactive Whatsapp board
The Solution
It was the noticeboard design of November. K4C wanted an interactive design for children to play with.
I created a design that resembled the Whatsapp chat and let children to stick emojis on the board to show the things that they were thankful for. Velcro tapes were attached on the back of emojis and the board for children to put the emojis on it.
